PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Monroe County Tax Collector’s Office is committed to ensuring accessibility of its website to people with disabilities. The Monroe County Tax Collector’s Office is actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of the website and in doing so adheres to many of the available standards and guidelines.
The Monroe County Tax Collector’s Office does not discriminate in its programs and services on the basis of religion, age, race, color, national origin, gender, marital or parental status, or disability and complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.
In order to further our commitment to nondiscrimination, we continuously update the website in order to ensure the site conforms to World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA. Such guidelines detail best practices for ensuring assistive technology users can access the site. The guidelines also make the site more user-friendly for all people.
Due to the Monroe County Tax Collector’s Office’s integration with external vendors, areas within the site remain beyond the Monroe County Tax Collector’s Office’s control. Until the integration with these external vendors is resolved, the Monroe County Tax Collector’s Office can only achieve a partial level of conformance according to WCAG.
