I. Purpose
To establish uniform procedures to recruit, select and appoint applicants to vacant positions within the Office of the Monroe County Tax Collector.
II. Policy
The Monroe County Tax Collector promotes the hiring of individuals without regard to age, race, color, sex, religious creed, national origin, political affiliations, marital status, or handicap (except when such requirement constitutes a bonafide occupational qualification necessary to perform the tasks associated with the position).
Selection of individuals to fill vacant positions will be made from the most qualified available applicants. However, the Tax Collector as an elected, Constitutional Officer, retains the right to make personnel changes and decisions deemed necessary to carry out the duties of the office and serve the people of Monroe County. A. Individuals to be employed by the Monroe County Tax Collector must meet the following criteria:
- Must meet the minimum qualifications specified in job descriptions.
- Must meet other bona fide preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position for which the individual is being hired.
- Must be a United States citizen or an alien authorized to work in the United States.
