In response to numerous inquiries, Airbnb, HomeAway and VRBO do not presently have accounts with the Monroe County Tax Collector to remit the Monroe County Tourist Development Tax (5%) on anyone’s behalf. The property owner is responsible for collecting and remitting those taxes.
If you currently have a Monroe County Tourist Development Tax account you should continue to collect and remit the Monroe County Tourist Development Tax under your account.
If you do not have an account, it is your responsibility to open one with our office. You can find the form on our website: monroetaxcollector.com.
